The TERASUN project consortium recently concluded a successful Review Meeting, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of European solar technology. Partners gathered to evaluate key achievements and synchronize the next phases of development for the next generation of photovoltaic cells.
Revitalizing the Solar Industry through Innovation
The core mission of TERASUN is to strengthen the European solar market by optimizing photovoltaic cell production. By blending cutting-edge research with industrial scalability, the project is making solar energy:

Upgrading Crystalline Silicon (c-Si) Photovoltaic Cells

These upgrades allow for higher performance without the premium price tag typically associated with next-gen solar tech.
Path to TRL6: Scaling Photovoltaic Technology
The meeting confirmed that the project is on track to reach Technology Readiness Level 6 (TRL6). This indicates that the photovoltaic cell innovations are moving beyond the laboratory and into relevant simulated environments, proving their viability for large-scale industrial application.
